Gout

Gout is a type of inflammation of the joints caused by the accumulation of crystals of uric acid (monosodium urate) in the joints, tendons and other tissues of the body. It is chronic in character and occurs in acute attacks. It occurs more frequently in males, usually in middle life. Women, after menopause, are also sometimes affected by this disease.

Carrot juice, in mixture with the juices of beet and cucumber, is particularly effective. Beet juice - 100 ml and cucumber juice - 100 ml must be mixed with 300 ml of carrot juice to make 500 ml of combined juice and taken every day.

  • Avoid protein rich diet.
  • Properly do massage and hot fomentation on the affected area.
  • Do draping with crape bandage of the joint.
  • Avoid cold temperature.
  • Do morning and evening walk daily.
  • Avoid coffee and soft drinks in your diet.
  • Eat potassium rich diet.
  • Drink plenty of water so that kidneys flush out the excess uric acid.

  • In a glass of water, squeeze half lemon. Take this concoction three times a day. Since lemon is rich in vitamin C, it helps in dissolving the gouty deposits.
    Intake 6 to 8 ounces of fluid per day. Not only would it lessen the gout attack, but would also prevent kidney stones from developing.
  • French beans are helpful in treating gout. Extract half a cup of juice and drink this once or twice everyday. It would provide a healing effect and also reduce inflammation.
  • Grind mustard powder and mix equal proportion of whole wheat powder. Add water to this mixture to make a paste. Apply this paste over the affected area.
  • Take 2 tsp each of organic apple cider vinegar and honey. Consume this mixture once a day.
  • Take a bucket of warm water and add two cups of Epsom salt in it. Dip the feet in it until the water loses its heat.
