Snoring

Snoring occurs when there is a shaking of your soft palate (it is the back part of the top of your mouth). The muscles supporting the opening of the higher airway in the reverse of the throat relax during sleep. Additional tissues in the palate and uvula, the thickset piece between the tonsils-vibrate with each breath, and these vibrations really cause the sound of snoring. In few people, the airway has a capability to close at any point. Narrowing of the airway will cause disorder and the noises of snoring

Drink Eucalyptus tea as a natural remedy. Soak two teaspoons of eucalyptus leaves to a boiling cup of water, drain and drink to prevent snoring.

  • Use pillows to keep your neck straight and comfortable. Also, elevate your head, which can sometimes help minimize your snoring.
  • Elevating your bed to elevate your head and torso may be required.
  • Get your allergies under control, as this can help reduce your snoring.
  • If you are overweight, lose some excess pounds. Losing excess weight can help to reduce snoring or stop it all together.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol before bedtime.
  • Check your medicines. Some medicines, like anthihistamines and sedatives can actually increase your snoring.
  • Stop smoking, as this aggravates the tissues in the throat that make you snore.
  • Don't eat a big meal before going to bed.

  • The ideal posture while sleeping would be on the sides. This would reduce the intensity of sound created while snoring.
  • Olive oil is said to reduce snoring. Take 2 to 3 sips of it before going to bed. This would lessen the noise and also stop snoring after some time.
  • Follow a regular sleep routine. Sleeping at fixed times and getting up at the same time. This is believed to reduce snoring.
  • In boiling water, place a bunch of sage and let it steep. Allow it to cool. Before going to bed, strain this mixture and gargle with the liquid. This will prove effective in reducing snoring.
