Leucoderma

Leucoderma is a disorder of the skin which literally means white skin. This is a gradual loss of the pigment melanin from the skin layers which results in white patches. However, the condition does not cause any organic harm. This is considered to be neither infectious nor contagious.
Symptoms
  • White spots on some parts of skin which later develop into patches.
  • In some cases, most of the skin is covered with white patches.

Steep the seeds of Psoralea (Babchi) in the juice of ginger (Adrak) for three days. Then remove the husks by rubbing the seeds between your hands. Dry the seeds in shade and then grind them to make a powder. One gram of this powder should be taken with a cup of fresh milk everyday for a period of 40 days.

  • Take about 500 gms of turmeric and soak it overnight in 5 liters of water. In the morning, boil it till only one liter of water is left. Strain this and add 500 ml of mustard oil. Heat again till only the oil is left. Apply this oil on the white patches twice a day for a period of 6 months.
  • The use of the green leafy vegetable-goose foot (Bathua) is also beneficial. Have this twice a day (once in the morning and evening), for a period of three months.
